Coffee under painted dancheong in a Seochon hanok

Self-paid. The blogger paid for this visit.

A café in a renovated hanok in Seochon, tucked just off the main street, with traditional dancheong patterns painted on the tables and beams. Go for a latte and a Dutch baby, a rare find in Seoul cafés.

세상에 오가는 사람들 편히 마시라고 밖에 시원한 물 두신 것 좀 봐

They even leave cold water outside for anyone passing by.

Is it for you?

Go forThe hanok keeps its old wooden beams, and the dancheong (the colorful patterns you see on palaces) is painted properly, without feeling overdone. Coffee is good and the Dutch baby is clean and simple. It is comfortable to sit alone, and many foreign travelers stop in.
Skip ifYou want a big, quiet space to work. It is small and fills with visitors.

Good to know

  • Ask for a dancheong-painted table. They make great overhead photos.
  • Cold water is left outside the door, free for anyone walking by.
  • Mondays close early at 18:00.
  • No parking.
