Charcoal-grilled aged pork at a Gwanghwamun BBQ spot open since 2001

Self-paid. The blogger paid for this visit.

An old-school Korean BBQ restaurant between Gwanghwamun and Jonggak, grilling aged pork over real charcoal since 2001. Order thick ogyeopsal and neck, then finish with kimchi stew and rice.

오겹살은 두툼한 두께가 인상적이었어요.

The pork belly comes thick. That's the first thing you notice.

Is it for you?

Go forThe aged ogyeopsal (pork belly with the skin on) is cut thick and grills up with a good balance of fat and lean. The neck is juicy, not dry, so it is easy to switch between the two. The kimchi stew is spicy and deep with plenty of pork in it, a solid way to end the meal with rice.
