Is it for you?

Go forLanterns hang over the whole main courtyard, and potted lotus flowers line the paths in summer. In front of the main hall stand a white pine (a natural monument) and a 10-story octagonal pagoda. At the evening service, office workers sit and chant together, and anyone can watch.

Good to know

  • For lotus photos, come between 06:00 and 10:00 when the flowers open fully.
  • Lanterns light up after sunset. At 19:00 in summer it was still too bright, so go later for the night view.
  • Visitors can watch the evening service. Be quiet and do not block worshippers.
  • Pair it with Insadong, Anguk, or Gwanghwamun Square nearby.
